About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading international law firm with offices across the United States, Europe, and Asia. This professional services firm operates at the intersection of government, technology, and business.
The Business Development Specialist will support business development initiatives and marketing strategies for litigation practice groups. This role works closely with Business Development Managers to execute strategic plans, including pitch and RFP development, market research, competitive analysis, marketing content creation, event coordination, and client engagement activities.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in a legal environment, or professional services marketing and business development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience delivering high-quality client service in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Independent, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
Key Responsibilities
Proposal & Pitch Support:
- Develop and refine persuasive pitch materials and RFP responses
- Collaborate with attorneys to tailor marketing collateral
Event Coordination:
- Plan and execute in-person and virtual thought leadership events, webinars, and client receptions
- Manage sponsorships to maximize visibility and engagement
Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct research on companies, industries, and competitors
- Provide insights to attorneys to inform strategic initiatives
- Track legal industry trends to maintain a competitive advantage
Rankings & Directories:
- Manage submissions for legal directories, including Benchmark Litigation, Chambers USA, and Legal 500
Content Management:
- Maintain the experience database and contact management system
- Tag activities, update records, and generate reports
Marketing Communications:
- Coordinate with communications and digital marketing teams for website updates, LinkedIn profiles, and attorney biographies
Reporting & Analytics:
- Track business development activities, client wins, and cross-selling opportunities
- Support special projects as assigned by leadership
