Pay Range: $65K-$90K | Non-exempt | Bonus Eligible
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM | Extensive Overtime

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a fast-paced Family Law practice. This is a critical role that provides direct support to a senior attorney, ensuring the team operates efficiently and effectively. Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in Family Law
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality support

Key Responsibilities

Client Interaction & Support

  • Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor in all client communications
  • Greet and assist clients and visitors as needed
  • Convey information and relay messages clearly and promptly

Document Management & Legal Support

  • Prepare and revise a variety of legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
  • Maintain confidential client files in line with firm protocols
  • Handle both electronic and manual filing of court documents, including e-filing procedures
  • Assist with billing preparation and documentation

Administrative & Technical Tasks

  • Manage calendars, deadlines, and meeting schedules
  • Coordinate filing systems for a paper-intensive practice
  • Transcribe, edit, and proofread legal letters and documents
  • Edit and submit attorney bills for processing
  • Provide backup administrative support within the department as needed

Technology Utilization

  • Use and maintain proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), SurePoint, and NetDocuments
  • Navigate and troubleshoot practice support systems with ease
