About the Role:
Our client, a top-ranked national law firm, is seeking a Senior Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation Paralegal to join their fast-growing IP team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigation paralegal with at least 7 years of IP litigation experience, specifically involving patent law and Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). The role supports attorneys in all phases of complex litigation and trial preparation, and offers the chance to work on high-stakes, high-profile matters in a dynamic legal environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7+ years of litigation experience, with significant exposure to patent and ITC litigation
- Advanced knowledge of USPTO and ITC practices and procedures
- Demonstrated experience with discovery, trial preparation, and post-trial support
- Proficiency with case management software (e.g., Relativity, DeskSite, West Case Notebook, TrialDirector)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with legal teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Flexibility to work overtime and travel as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex casework involving ITC and federal district court litigation, including discovery, Markman hearings, and trial preparation
- Lead and organize electronic and paper discovery processes, including depositions, transcripts, and large-scale production
- Maintain databases, privilege logs, and litigation files using tools like Relativity, TrialDirector, and West Case Notebook
- Prepare and file legal documents, including briefs, motions, and exhibits; perform legal cite-checking, bluebooking, and shepardizing
- Assist attorneys with legal research, document review, and coordination with clients, witnesses, experts, and vendors
- Coordinate depositions, trial logistics, and war room setup; manage trial exhibits and expert binders
- Compile case timelines, analyze opposing expert testimony, and conduct rule-based procedural research
- Interact with the USPTO, USITC, PAIR, and other government systems to obtain case-related materials
- Mentor junior paralegals and contribute to team knowledge sharing
- Monitor court rules and updates affecting IP litigation procedures
- Travel occasionally and provide on-site trial support when needed
