Position Overview
Our client, a well-respected Boston law firm, is hiring a Temporary Commercial Transaction Paralegal to support its high-volume Commercial Transaction Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-driven paralegal experienced in commercial real estate, commercial finance, and transactional law to make an immediate impact.
In this role, you will play a key part in managing the full lifecycle of commercial transactions, including document preparation, due diligence, title review, UCC filings, and closing coordination.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate preferred
- 4+ years of commercial finance experience in a law firm environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF software, Outlook, and government e-filing systems
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Professional demeanor and commitment to handling confidential information appropriately
Responsibilities
- Communicate with vendors, outside attorneys, and clients via phone and email
- Research legal entities and verify organizational status across jurisdictions
- Notarize documents (or willingness to obtain Notary Public certification)
- Review due diligence materials and ensure compliance with lender requirements
- Analyze title exams, commitments, and policies; prepare summaries for attorneys
- Research and e-record documents through the Registry of Deeds/Land Court systems
- Request and summarize UCC, tax lien, and litigation searches
- Prepare closing agendas, settlement statements, and various loan documents
- Assist with commercial loan closings and coordinate the delivery of originals
- Prepare and organize electronic document binders and manage post-closing diligence
- Provide administrative support to the team as needed
