Position Overview
Our client, a leader in the legal services industry, is seeking an experienced Temporary Trademark Prosecution Attorney to support its busy Intellectual Property team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can independently manage domestic and international trademark prosecution, protect client brands, and deliver exceptional service in a high-volume environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active Massachusetts Bar admission
- 4+ years of trademark prosecution experience within a law firm or IP-focused environment
- Strong understanding of USPTO procedures, TTAB matters, and global trademark requirements
- Exceptional research, analytical, and legal writing skills
- Ability to manage complex workloads and multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
- Strong client service mindset and ability to communicate effectively
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, file, and prosecute U.S. trademark applications and foreign trademark applications
- Conduct and analyze trademark clearance searches and provide strategic recommendations
- Manage trademark portfolios and oversee all docketing and maintenance requirements
- Respond to Office Actions; handle opposition and cancellation proceedings before the TTAB
- Draft cease & desist letters and support brand enforcement initiatives
- Advise clients on brand protection, risk mitigation, and proper trademark use
- Coordinate with internal teams and international counsel
- Stay current on developments in trademark law and IP best practices
