About the Role:
Our client, a successful and collaborative wealth management firm, is seeking an experienced Trust Advisor to join its Fiduciary Services department. This position offers a unique opportunity to manage complex trust administration duties and build long-term relationships with clients, trustees, and external advisors. The role involves a high degree of independence and cross-functional collaboration, working closely with legal, investment, and client services teams to deliver integrated fiduciary solutions.
This is a high-touch, client-facing position that requires discretion, strong judgment, and a deep understanding of estate planning, tax law, and trust instruments. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to client service, team support, and professional growth in a values-driven, work/life balanced culture.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of trust administration experience in a wealth management, banking, or legal environment
- Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation, or willingness to pursue certification
- Strong command of MS Excel and Word; experience with trust-specific platforms (e.g., AddVantage, Estate Planning Tools, Charitable Financial Planner) is a plus
- Proven success in a client service-oriented role, ideally within high-net-worth or multi-generational wealth structures
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Demonstrated strength in communication, organization, and problem-solving
- Able to thrive in a collaborative, team-based culture while managing tasks independently
- Highly adaptable, solutions-focused, and committed to continuous learning and process ownership
- Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment with occasional need for flexibility in hours
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret trust instruments and estate planning documents
- Research and analyze fiduciary, probate, retirement, income, and estate tax matters relevant to client needs
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, external attorneys, accountants, and advisors
- Guide the administration of new and existing accounts, including account openings, distributions, terminations, and reporting
- Support trust-related tasks including gift tax return preparation, GST tracking, and death-related account procedures
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistency in processes, communication, and client service standards
- Lead or participate in firm-wide initiatives, including policy reviews, fiduciary risk management, and procedural enhancements
- Contribute to process improvements, internal training, and mentorship of junior team members
- Maintain accurate records in accounting and portfolio management systems (e.g., Sungard’s AddVantage, ProFx)
- Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, using sound judgment to prioritize effectively
