Job Overview

Our client, a leading firm in the legal industry, is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and detail-oriented Business Development Manager to support the Corporate Practice Group in its New York office. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned legal marketing professional to work alongside attorneys and senior leadership to drive impactful growth strategies.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business development experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law and transactional practices is preferred.
  • Proven experience in creating and managing pitches, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management abilities and keen attention to detail.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and collaboration.
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans aligned with firm-wide goals.
  • Collaborate with practice group leaders and partners to execute client-focused pitches, RFPs, and market research.
  • Organize and promote live and virtual events, including CLE programs, client education sessions, and sponsorships.
  • Lead the creation and upkeep of marketing collateral, including website content and thought leadership materials.
  • Drive submissions for legal directories and industry rankings with a focus on best practices.
  • Conduct and synthesize research on new business opportunities with internal teams.
  • Work with external PR teams to support media relations, press releases, and social media strategy.
  • Support the integration of lateral hires into the Corporate group and broader business development efforts.
  • Maintain practice and industry-specific deal lists and distribution lists.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver marketing projects on time and with high quality.
