Position Overview
A Boston law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant to join their collaborative legal team. This role supports attorneys and professional staff across civil litigation and commercial litigation matters, assisting from case intake through trial and final judgment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized professional with deep experience in state and federal court filings, litigation support, and legal document preparation who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys contributing to successful case outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant, Litigation Secretary, or Legal Administrator
- Strong background in civil litigation and commercial litigation
- Demonstrated experience with state and federal court filings
- Exceptional organizational skills and time management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with legal case management software and litigation tools (iManage, ProLaw, Laure AI) is strongly preferred
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Key Job Functions
- Manage and support litigation matters from intake, discovery, and motion practice through trial preparation and judgment while ensuring deadlines and court requirements are met
- Draft and prepare pleadings, affidavits, subpoenas, deposition notices, legal briefs, and pretrial orders under attorney guidance
- Handle state and federal court filings, communicate with courts and federal agencies, and maintain compliance with filing procedures and deadlines
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, preparing trial binders, and supporting attorneys during litigation proceedings
- Provide clear and professional communication with clients, attorneys, and legal professionals, helping ensure a positive client experience throughout the litigation process
- Maintain organized case files, legal records, and document management systems, coordinate attorney calendars, and manage court schedules
- Work collaboratively with attorneys and legal staff to ensure high-quality legal support services, efficient case management, and exceptional client service
