Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 8:30-5

Position Overview

An affordable housing organization is seeking a highly organized Temporary Recertification Specialist to support compliance and resident documentation processes. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with affordable housing requirements, ensuring accurate resident recertifications, and supporting daily property management operations.

Key Skills

  • Experience with affordable housing programs, recertifications, or HUD compliance preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Experience using property management software, housing compliance systems, or standard office tools
  • Excellent communication and administrative coordination skills

Responsibilities

  • Process resident applications and support strategies that maintain low vacancy rates
  • Complete annual and interim recertifications, including accurate income verification and calculations
  • Track lease renewals, recertification schedules, and compliance deadlines
  • Collect required third-party verifications and prepare files for compliance review
  • Maintain organized resident files, waitlists, and compliance documentation
  • Assist with rent collection, payment posting, and arrearage reporting
  • Prepare and send required housing program notices and documentation
  • Coordinate with management and maintenance teams to support unit turnover processes
  • Assist with unit inspections, property marketing, and general property management administration
