About the Opportunity
A nationally recognized Boston law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Client Billing Representative to join its finance and accounting team. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in client billing, accounts receivable, or financial operations, including those from professional services environments.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate legal billing, supporting attorneys, and resolving billing inquiries in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management required
- 3+ years of experience in client billing, accounts receivable, or accounting functions
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data and billing
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and numerical analysis
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and client service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive, “can-do” attitude
Responsibilities
- Review, prepare, and process client invoices in accordance with attorney and client guidelines
- Verify daily billing production and ensure accuracy across all transactions
- Generate and distribute pre-bills, billing reports, and ad hoc financial reports
- Utilize billing software systems (e.g., ExpertImage, iTimekeep, PrebillManager) and support adoption across teams
- Respond to and resolve billing discrepancies and client inquiries
- Provide training and support to attorneys and staff on billing systems and processes
- Collaborate with the finance team to maintain efficient billing workflows and coverage
