About the Opportunity
An established law firm is hiring a Client Financial Services Specialist to support its legal billing, accounts receivable, and collections functions. Reporting to the Client Financial Services Manager, this role plays a critical part in maintaining the firm’s financial operations by ensuring accurate invoice processing, proactive collections, and exceptional service to attorneys and clients. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with experience in law firm billing, client accounting, or professional services finance who thrive in a collaborative environment.Â
Key Qualifications
- College degree required; Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Experience in billing, accounts receivable, collections, or client accounting in a law firm or professional services environment
- Familiarity with legal billing software, including SurePoint or ARCS
- Knowledge of accounting principles, billing procedures, and collections practices
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and customer service
Responsibilities
- Prepare, process, and distribute client invoices accurately and efficiently
- Manage billing invoice memos, transfers, write-downs, and adjustments
- Process and coordinate electronic billing (e-billing) submissions
- Set up and maintain client billing arrangements and alternative fee structures
- Review and update client and matter information within the billing system
- Produce bill histories, invoice copies, and audit response reports
- Support month-end billing and financial closing activities
- Assist attorneys and firm professionals with billing inquiries and invoice management
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
- Contact clients regarding unpaid invoices through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence
- Collaborate with attorneys to resolve collection issues and improve payment timelines
- Track unbilled revenue and monitor anticipated invoicing schedules
- Process credit card payments and apply cash receipts accurately
- Generate client account statements and collection reports for management
- Document collection activities and maintain detailed financial records
