About the Opportunity
A highly respected law firm with a collaborative culture and long-tenured team is seeking an experienced Estate Administrator to join their Trusts and Estates practice. This role provides a unique opportunity to work with high-net-worth clients in a stable and team-oriented environment.
This individual will support attorneys by handling all phases of probate and estate administration, with a strong emphasis on Form 706 estate tax support, wills and trusts, and asset valuation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Estate and Probate Administration
- Strong understanding of wills, trusts, and the Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code (MUPC)
- Proven ability to present accurate asset and deduction information for tax filings
- Prior experience supporting or preparing 706 tax returns is highly preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Demonstrated professionalism, dependability, and emotional intelligence when working with clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team
Responsibilities
Estate & Probate Administration
- Read, interpret, and apply the terms of wills and trusts
- Manage and execute probate filings and legal notices
- Interact professionally with court staff and maintain filing deadlines
- Attend client family meetings
706 Estate Tax Preparation Support
- Gather and organize asset and deduction data for estate tax filings
- Assist clients with collecting financial documentation and paying estate-related bills
- Provide valuation of estate assets and help track relevant documentation
- Support preparation of Form 706
Trustee & Distribution Support
- Draft trustee appointment documents, forego funding agreements, and release forms
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of bequests and distributions to beneficiaries
- Prepare estate and trust accountings, ensuring accuracy and compliance
