About the Opportunity:
A leading Boston law firm is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Billing Coordinator to manage all aspects of its billing process. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree required
- 2+ years of billing experience, preferably within the legal industry
- Exceptional accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize competing assignments
- Strong research, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Comfortable building and maintaining relationships across various organizational levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Experience with Elite or Aderant billing software is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and process daily billing workflow tickets with promptness and professionalism
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate billing of all services
- Investigate, resolve, and escalate billing discrepancies as necessary
- Review, edit, and finalize pre-bills in response to requests
- Manage write-ups, write-downs, and billing adjustments efficiently
- Update billing profiles at the client and matter level, including rate changes and exceptions
- Maintain accurate client and matter information, including address updates and matter closures
- Assist with the processing of e-bills (creation, upload, approval)
- Support the preparation of monthly proformas and statements, including printing and sorting
- Prepare IOLTA reports monthly and apply retainer funds as directed
- Generate monthly billing, accounts receivable (AR), and work-in-progress (WIP) reports for management and practice leaders
- Provide general administrative support, including filing and occasional backup duties within the accounting team
