Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000 | Bonus Eligible
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 9:00-5:00 

Business Development Manager Opportunity at Nationally Recognized Law Firm

Our client, a nationally recognized leader in the legal services industry, is seeking a strategic and experienced Business Development Manager to support and drive growth for its Bankruptcy, Public Finance, Real Estate, and Technology, Communications & Media (TechComm) practice areas. Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of experience in business development within a law firm environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing team members and leading RFP processes
  • Strong knowledge of legal marketing, industry trends, and technology platforms
  • Ability to communicate effectively 
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Highly proactive, solution-oriented, and adaptable in fast-paced environments
  • Skilled in collaborative consulting, influencing stakeholders, and aligning business goals
  • Technologically proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new tools quickly
  • Must demonstrate high levels of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to expand current client relationships and build new business opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends and industry insights to inform proactive go-to-market strategies.
  • Partner with attorneys to create and implement individual business plans aligned with firm objectives.
  • Drive the end-to-end sales process: generate leads, prepare for client meetings, respond to RFPs, and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Marketing Technology teams to utilize data analytics and reporting tools for business intelligence.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans for each practice group with an emphasis on revenue generation.
  • Oversee an RFP/proposal writer to support public finance business development.
  • Elevate practice group profiles through targeted marketing campaigns, events, and conference sponsorships.
  • Coordinate with the PR team to enhance visibility in third-party publications.
  • Partner with the content and social media teams to build thought leadership initiatives.
  • Manage submissions for recognitions such as Chambers, Legal 500, and Best Law Firms.
  • Supervise a Business Development Specialist in managing and maintaining experience databases and pitch content.
  • Support integration of lateral hires into practice groups
  • Assist with budget planning and ensure effective resource allocation aligned with departmental goals.
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities.
