This firm is currently seeking a detail-oriented, professional, and emotionally resilient Litigation Paralegal to support its Insurance Defense team handling high-profile, national litigation cases. This dynamic group manages sensitive legal matters involving sexual abuse, human trafficking, and other emotionally charged content. Due to the nature of the work, this position requires someone who is comfortable dealing with challenging subject matter and can maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of litigation experience in a law firm or insurance company setting.
  • Prior experience with insurance defense.
  • Hands-on experience with state and federal litigation, including mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
  • Strong familiarity with insurance policies, coverage forms, and regulatory language.
  • Proficiency in tools such as iManage, Relativity, TextMap, inTapp, PACER, and CourtAlert.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential materials with discretion.
  • Capable of working under pressure, managing multiple deadlines, and maintaining high-quality work standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
  • Tech-savvy with advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn new systems.

Job Overview

  • Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation: case initiation, discovery (including eDiscovery), court filings, trial, post-trial, and appellate procedures.
  • Prepare for hearings and depositions, conduct document reviews, draft pleadings and discovery documents, and manage exhibits and e-filings.
  • Maintain document management systems and coordinate large-scale document collections, reviews, and productions.
  • Track court dockets and monitor relevant legal news articles.
  • Conduct corporate research, particularly related to entity history.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and internal teams to manage physical and electronic war rooms.
  • Take on additional responsibilities.
