Job Overview
Our client is a mid-sized law firm known for its collaborative environment and strong reputation across civil litigation, municipal law, probate and estate planning, and real estate law. They are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney with a current book of business, ideally within business litigation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong litigation experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage cases independently from start to finish.
This role is ideal for a collaborative, outgoing professional who thrives in a supportive and fast-paced legal environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in civil litigation
- A current, verifiable book of business
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Proven ability to handle cases independently and manage complex legal matters
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with proficiency in legal research tools and databases
- Excellent interpersonal communication and client relationship skills
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters, from initial pleadings through trial
- Develop and implement effective legal strategies
- Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and related documents
- Prepare and argue motions, attend hearings, and participate in settlement negotiations
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and appeals
- Maintain consistent client communication, ensuring transparency and trust
- Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to manage cases efficiently
- Work with expert witnesses and consultants to support case strategy and strengthen arguments
