Salary Range: $120,000 – $160,000
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday 

Join a Leading Legal Services Team as an Estate Administrator 

Our client, a nationally recognized leader in the legal services industry, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estate Administrator to support their Private Client and Trusts practice. This exciting opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional with 5+ years of probate and estate administration experience, especially those skilled in handling complex taxable estates and estate tax returns. This hybrid position offers flexibility, a collaborative culture, and the chance to work with some of the top legal minds in the industry.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of estate administration experience within a law firm or professional services setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in probate and estate administration in New York or Massachusetts.
  • Strong background in drafting and filing federal and state estate tax returns.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF programs, and Outlook.
  • Experience with GEMS estate tax software is preferred.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of estate administration from start to finish.
  • Prepare and file Massachusetts Probate Court and New York Surrogate’s Court documents.
  • Draft and file federal and state estate tax returns (Massachusetts, New York, and others as applicable).
  • Collect and value assets, calculate estate tax estimates, and prepare detailed accountings.
  • Draft instruments of distribution, receipts, and correspondence to clients, beneficiaries, and advisors.
  • Oversee post-mortem income tax planning, asset transfers, and funding of trusts.
  • Act as a primary point of contact with attorneys, fiduciaries, family members, accountants, and financial advisors throughout the estate administration process.
