About the Role
Our client, a leader in the legal services industry, is seeking an experienced Manager of Administration to oversee daily operations and provide strategic leadership at their Los Angeles office. This role requires a highly motivated and organized professional with a strong background in office management, human resources, and staff development.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 4+ years of experience in office administration, HR management, or similar roles
- Strong leadership, team management, and people development skills
- Experience in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management
- Excellent business acumen and ability to work across various functional areas
- Outstanding ability to communicate effectively
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust and motivate teams
- Proven track record of successfully executing strategic and operational plans
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to learn new software quickly
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills
- Comfortable presenting data and performance metrics to senior stakeholders
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a hands-on approach to management
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee engagement, office culture, and administrative matters
- Manage day-to-day office operations, staff scheduling, and workflow coordination
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, efficient services to attorneys and staff
- Act as liaison between the office and firm-wide administrative departments
- Lead and coach a team of administrative professionals, promoting continuous development
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of professional staff in collaboration with HR teams
- Manage performance reviews, goal setting, and employee development plans
- Support strategic initiatives and execute short- and long-term office goals
- Supervise budget preparation, expense tracking, and invoice approval
- Coordinate with vendors and oversee facilities management, including building relationships and security procedures
- Lead business continuity planning and serve as liaison with property management
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal Recruiting, Business Development, and Attorney Development teams
- Maintain accurate records related to personnel, office space, and vendor contracts
- Support technology onboarding and coordinate with IT as needed
- Occasionally travel for firm-related events, training, or support
