Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of mortgage loan origination experience
- Proven success in loan origination sales at a local bank or mortgage lender
- Strong knowledge of secondary market underwriting guidelines
- Ability to register as a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) under the S.A.F.E. Act
- Familiarity with the Middlesex County, MA real estate market is preferred
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and travel locally as needed
Key Job Functions
- Originate and close high-quality residential mortgage loans to meet established production goals
- Develop referral partnerships with real estate agents, attorneys, housing agencies, and developers
- Generate new business through networking, First-Time Homebuyer seminars, digital leads, and community outreach
- Analyze borrower applications and conduct preliminary underwriting
- Recommend appropriate conventional, FHA, VA, and other mortgage products
- Serve as liaison between borrowers, brokers, attorneys, and internal teams throughout the loan process
- Ensure compliance with federal and state banking regulations, including the S.A.F.E. Act
- Identify cross-selling opportunities across deposit and lending products
- Represent our client at industry events, mortgage trade fairs, and community networking events
