Our client in the banking and financial services industry is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to support its Commercial Lending Division. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in credit risk analysis, financial statement analysis, and commercial lending.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of commercial credit analysis experience
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, credit underwriting, and risk assessment
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with LoanVantage, COCC Insight, or similar platforms preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

Key Job Functions

  • Conduct in-depth credit risk analysis, including evaluating credit history, financial statements, and market conditions
  • Assess and recommend approval or denial of commercial loans and credit extensions
  • Analyze balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow projections to determine financial health
  • Prepare credit memos, loan packages, and Board-level presentations
  • Support underwriting for commercial and commercial real estate loans
  • Assign credit ratings and evaluate loan quality and performance 
  • Perform industry research and competitive analysis to identify trends and risks
  • Evaluate business performance, liquidity, and management strength to forecast profitability
  • Develop and analyze property cash flow models
  • Ensure adherence to lending policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Track and manage loan documentation and reporting requirements
  • Identify and flag any policy deviations or risk concerns
  • Partner with Commercial Lending Officers to provide financial insights and recommendations
  • Present findings through written reports and verbal presentations to leadership
  • Support senior leadership with special projects and strategic initiatives
