About the Opportunity
A specialty manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations within its service department. This role is ideal for a dependable, adaptable, and hands-on professional with experience in service coordination, heavy equipment, mechanical systems, or hydraulic vehicle maintenance.
The Service Supervisor will coordinate customer service needs, oversee technicians, support equipment troubleshooting and repairs, and collaborate with production, purchasing, and delivery teams to ensure efficient service operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience in service coordination, service management, or a mechanical/heavy equipment environment
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems, including truck-mounted equipment, bodies, winches, aerial devices, or related equipment
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred; candidates with strong technical experience who are ready to step into a leadership role may be considered
- Hands-on shop experience
- Hydraulic vehicle maintenance experience is a plus
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B required, or ability to obtain one shortly after hire
- Must be physically capable of climbing into trucks and operating bucket equipment
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Dependable, hardworking, adaptable, and receptive to direction
- Ability to maintain a positive and collaborative attitude in a physically demanding work environment
Key Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate customer service requests, scheduling, and service needs
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic equipment issues
- Assign, supervise, and support service technicians and repair work
- Coordinate with production and final preparation teams on new equipment delivery
- Prepare repair work orders and assign required materials
- Operate truck-mounted utility equipment to identify issues and verify completed repairs
- Respond to customer service calls and provide technical support as needed
- Partner with purchasing to maintain appropriate inventory levels for shop materials and repair supplies
- Ensure service work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently
