Skills & Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Massachusetts Bar (or eligibility for admission)
- Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Experience in labor law, employment law, education law, or public sector representation preferredÂ
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and client-facing abilities
- High level of accountability, initiative, and ownership
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day legal counsel on labor and employment law matters to public sector clients
- Represent clients in collective bargaining negotiations, including strategy development and proposal drafting
- Conduct legal research and draft legal opinions, briefs, policies, and related documentation
- Advocate for clients in labor arbitrations, grievance hearings, and proceedings before state and federal agencies
- Support and deliver training sessions on legal compliance and best practices
- Monitor and interpret changes in employment laws and labor regulations impacting public employers
