About the Opportunity
A leading international law firm is hiring a Business Development Specialist to support the Intellectual Property (IP) and IP Litigation teams by driving a variety of business development, marketing, and revenue-generating initiatives. Work will include pitch and RFP support, event coordination, legal directory submissions, content management, marketing communications, and research.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in a professional services setting, preferably a law firm.
- Demonstrated experience in marketing, client development, or business development
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and accuracy
- Effective time management and the ability to meet evolving deadlines
- Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Collaborative team player with a growth mindset and desire to support cross-functional efforts
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize competing tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Develop persuasive pitches and contribute to RFP responses, ensuring high-quality, consistent content and documentation
- Collaborate with the Client Development Manager and operations teams to plan and execute seminars, webinars, client events, and receptions
- Manage the drafting, coordination, and submission of legal directory entries (e.g., Chambers USA, Legal 500), including interview scheduling and attorney preparation
- Conduct research using tools such as Docket Navigator and Lex Machina, and partner with research teams to deliver competitive intelligence and industry insights
- Maintain the firm’s content management system with up-to-date IP and IP Litigation experience and materials
- Partner with marketing communications teams to support content creation, collateral development, and visibility initiatives
- Assist with special projects related to lateral onboarding, client feedback, and department-wide strategic initiatives
- Provide exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders with professionalism, collaboration, and a solutions-oriented mindset
