JOHNLEONARD is helping a Boston-based furniture dealership find a full-time Controller to help direct and oversee the company’s financial activities. This Controller role comes with a generous salary range of $140K-$170K and a benefits package.

As a Controller, you will support the executive team through high level financial planning, bookkeeping, and contributing to the company’s overall growth plans.

In your first few weeks in this Controller role, you can expect to:

  • Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports
  • Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses
  • Review the planning process and suggest improvements to current methods
  • Analyze operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination

To apply for this Controller role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

  • A bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of financial management experience; a Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in database and accounting computer application systems
