Location: Boston, MA | Hybrid – 2 remote days/week
Pay Range: $125K-$135K | Exempt | Bonus eligible
Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 9-5

About the Opportunity

Our client, a respected law firm, is seeking an experienced Fiduciary Tax Accountant to join its collaborative and inclusive Wealth Management Group. This newly created position offers an opportunity to work directly with high-net-worth clients, providing expert fiduciary tax services in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

The Fiduciary Tax Accountant will prepare and review estate tax returns, gift tax returns, and fiduciary income tax returns, supporting comprehensive estate and wealth planning strategies for family office clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Active CPA, JD, or Enrolled Agent credential required
  • 7+ years of experience in fiduciary tax accounting, ideally within a law firm, wealth management firm, or public accounting environment
  • Proven experience with high-net-worth individuals and complex estate structures preferred
  • In-depth understanding of fiduciary taxation, estate, and gift tax regulations
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and advanced Excel
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and process estate, fiduciary income, and gift tax returns (Forms 706, 8971, 1041, and 709, plus related state filings)
  • Analyze trust documents and estate plans to determine tax implications and ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with attorneys, advisors, and clients to create tax-efficient estate planning strategies
  • Maintain precise records of trust and estate transactions, distributions, and filings
  • Stay current with tax laws and regulatory changes affecting fiduciary entities; advise stakeholders proactively
  • Support IRS and state tax audits, correspondence, and valuations of estate assets
  • Utilize tax preparation software and financial systems to manage workflow and reporting
  • Provide overflow support to the Tax Department when needed
