Salary Range: $114K-$144.5K | Bonus Eligible
Schedule: Full-time | 9-5 | Monday-Friday
Billable Requirement: 1400 hours annually

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading firm in the intellectual property (IP) litigation space, seeks a motivated and experienced IP Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys across all phases of complex litigation, including discovery, trial, and appeal. 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years of experience in an IP litigation practice supporting litigation matters
  • Strong working knowledge of intellectual property litigation, including patents/trademarks/ copyright/litigation processes, and familiarity with IP-business relationships
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe; experience with legal billing, case, and document management systems.
  • Expert usage of electronic discovery (eDiscovery) tools and platforms (e.g., Relativity, Concordance) and experience with court filings in federal and state jurisdictions
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills: able to follow through on tasks, provide project updates, and interact effectively across all levels
  • Excellent time-management, organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills; ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting demands
  • Proven leadership/mentoring capacity; ability to train others and enhance team productivity
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of matters and firm business information
  • Flexible and dependable: able to meet deadlines, respond to overtime/travel requirements, and maintain a high level of professionalism

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain ownership of all facets of assigned complex ITC, federal, state, and pro bono cases, including docketing, case database updates, deadlines, and correspondence
  • Serve in a lead or secondary paralegal role on assigned matters; anticipate workloads and proactively work ahead
  • Coordinate with attorneys, colleagues, clients, courts, agencies, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, and other departments to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Conduct factual and legal research, organize findings, and compile results in clear, concise form
  • Prepare court filings: create shell documents, draft motions, proofread, cite-check, compile declarations, assemble exhibits, and appendices
  • Perform electronic filing in various courts and agencies; manage claim comparisons and prepare claim charts
  • Use advanced knowledge of eDiscovery platforms (including data mapping, custodial interviews, chain of custody, loading/searching/tagging documents, privilege logs) and assume leadership during the discovery phase
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and trials independently; provide trial support (travel/logistics, courtroom/war-room setup) with flexibility
  • Offer process improvement suggestions related to workflow efficiencies, law/rule changes, group initiatives; contribute to committees, pilots, or product deployment
  • Mentor and train other team members, serve as a resource to enhance the department’s productivity
  • Maintain daily accurate time-keeping
  • Respond to workload demands, occasional overtime, and travel as required; assume additional responsibilities as assigned
