Salary Range: $170K – $200K 
Schedule: Full-time, Exempt | Monday-Friday

Job Overview

Our client, a highly respected wealth management firm, is seeking an experienced Trust Counsel to join its Fiduciary Services team. This role is ideal for a strategic legal professional with deep expertise in trust administration, estate planning, and fiduciary law who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

This position offers high visibility, meaningful client interaction, and the opportunity to influence fiduciary strategy, risk management, and process improvement across complex trust portfolios.

Key Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) required; LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred
  • Active member of the Massachusetts Bar
  • 10+ years of experience in trust administration, estate planning, or fiduciary services
  • Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) or willingness to obtain
  • Strong knowledge of tax law, investment management, and fiduciary regulations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and portfolio management systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on trust administration, estate planning, and fiduciary compliance
  • Review and interpret trust documents, estate instruments, and probate matters
  • Advise on tax planning, gift tax, and generation-skipping transfer (GST) considerations
  • Manage lifecycle of trust accounts, including account openings, distributions, and terminations
  • Collaborate with attorneys, tax advisors, and financial professionals to deliver integrated solutions
  • Lead and support fiduciary risk management initiatives and committee participation
  • Drive process improvements, policy enhancements, and internal best practices
  • Present insights and updates in trustee and executive-level meetings
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional client service delivery
